Feature Enhancements.-
- New Menu.
- A new menu bar has been added. The now looks even more like a traditional desktop File Transfer Program than before. For those who do not want to have the menu, it can be switched off. The toolbar can aslo be switched off.
- Resume
- An often requested feature was the ability to resume interrupted uploads and downloads. Our Secure FTP (SFTP) client had this option for quite a while and we recently added the ability to resume interrupted uploads with Rad Upload. Starting with version 2.0, you can now resume uploads and downloads with Rad FTP if they happen to be interrupted for whatever reason
- Great Ease of Configuration.
Two changes make it easier to configure and change the behaviour of the applet for both the webmaster and the end user. The settings dialog which was introduced sometime back has been improved giving the end user great control over the applet.
The addition of new features means more configuration directives are avialable to the web site owner as well. Intstead of clutterring up the web page by using html PARAM directives to configure the applet, you can now place all the directives in a separate file (name radftp_properties.txt). This would make the site easier to maintain. You can continue to add configuration directives using html parameters if you wish to.
Other improvements-
- Compatibility List Grows
- As with most releases we have made, the list of servers that Rad FTP is compatible with has grown.
